Game Overview
Intro
We all come from space, whether you’re a man, beast, or monster. The matter that makes up your body was forged in the heart of an ancient star, and now that great expanse is calling you home.
Hundreds of new worlds are being discovered every day, yours to discover, own, develop, or destroy. The choice is yours. Do you have what it takes to make a name for yourself in the stars?
Others seem to think that they do. Some you may come to see as allies, but many will be your competition. See bitter rivals turn into best friends, and best friends turn into hated enemies. Grab a jetpack and set out to claim your rewards. How many worlds will you make your own?
Note: This game is in development and all details are subject to change.
Gameplay
Drawing inspiration from games like Destiny and Cyberpunk 2077, Selestium features familiar but unique gameplay, offering a gaming experience like no other! Move around the galaxy in third-person format, completing missions to level up and earn RPG tokens.
How do I play?
You begin by creating your character, which includes picking a race and starting a job. Once you appear in the world of Selestium, you can venture out fighting enemies, collecting resources, claiming artifacts, and finishing dungeons until you have enough resources to take control of your own land. Your character will grow over time, and as they do, so too will the variety of worlds you have access to. New achievements will become possible the further you go, available only to those who have completed specific quests under certain conditions, like defeating a Hippo Ape by yourself with no armor or weapons.
Classes and Races
As of winter 2021, we have 4 playable races for players to choose from, with the goal to eventually expand that number to 12. In regards to classes, which are referred to as ‘Jobs’ in Selestium, players can pick and choose different elements of Jobs from a ‘Job Tree’. These will impact how you move through the game, giving your character great power and utility.
The available Jobs are:
Melee Warrior, Tanker, Immobilizer Range Sniper, Controler, Hacker Conquer Manipulator, Tactician, Strategist Believer Galaxy, Trickster, Godly Pilot Ground, Air, Sea
In addition to the above, there are also Professions.
Maker, Minder, Finder(Artifacts, Trapper), Life-Giver(Farmer, Breeder)
Building and lands
Pylon / Energy Sources
To damage a building it will be considered deconstructed when the pylon is destroyed. The enemy can not remove the building, but if the pylon is destroyed it will disable all facilities the building offers until restored.
Central Pylon powers everything and is the central energy shield. Central pylons if destroyed are down for a minimum of 24 hours and we will require repairing and resources which can be performed during this 24 hours before it can return to operational.
The number of buildings that can be connected and the strength of the shield depends on the level of the central pylon.
Building Pylons connect to the central pylon, when a building pylon is destroyed it must be repaired before the building can resume operations. Building pylons are all free when a new building is created but they required resources to repair.
Turrets
Landowners can build turrets to help defend against enemies. Each turret does consume land points and requires pylon access.
Renting buildings
Players are able to rent buildings from landowners. The building base must be created by the landowner but the player can change the way it looks through the building menu. Buildings don't change from their core functionality, a player who rents a shop can only use it as a shop.
Guilds
Guilds are comprised of players and non-player characters.
A guild can set rules and requirements on their followers and build on lands together.
Guilds allow players to set up convenient ways to communicate and share resources with friendly players.
Factions
Factions are made up of a group of guilds, which allow people to enter the intergalactic political game. The future of Selestium is in your hands with this newfound power. Factions can set their own rules and requirements that their members have to follow, build lands together, and create complex democratic systems.
If a faction successfully builds a kingdom and meets the requirements to act as a starting location, new players can choose to start their characters in this kingdom, gaining unique traits based on what has been researched and what artifacts have been found.
Openworld War
One of the main elements in Selestium is war between lands. This element allows players to build armies from players and NPCs', gearing them up with weapons, armor, and vehicles. Then send the armies off to battle other lands.
War is not cheap, players who go to or even attack a land with a handful of soldier will lose a lot of funds if even one soldier dies.
Game Master
Game masters are employed by Revolve Games and have admin abilities to summon different NPC’s, Quests, and events dynamically.
This will ensure there are always dynamic and unique events happening around the land at all times.
Game Masters can not give RPG tokens, weapons, or advantages to players. They have only the power to drop pre-approved quests, events, or NPC.
Roaming Hordes
Hordes of NPCs roam around, growing stronger if they kill players to a legendary cap. If they get close to a pylon it will move to attack to destroy, trying to absorb the pylon energy. This could mean multiple NPC's heading to the same locations.
If NPC reaches legendary status, it will stop moving (away from pylon energy) and remain there attacking any players who get close.
Roamers are broken into three types.
Hunters
Will attack every player or NPC they can find. Regardless of the pylon radius. They will only drain pylons should they not find any living creature nearby.
NPC Hunters will attack other NPC's. In doing so they will get stronger the same as if they attacked players.
Gatherers
Will only target pylon energy sources, knocking players out of the way. Only destroying objects if they block their way from the pylon sources.
Finders
Finders will attack those that attack them, attack those in the way of pylons or near a pylon, and will chase pylons for their energy.
While we do have roaming creatures. This does not impact stationary creatures that live and grow in condensed ecosystems. More similar to wow creatures that stay in the same location.
